Getting started

Which Fire TVs does it work on?

Ones that run Fire OS: the Fire TV Stick 4K Plus, 4K Max and first-generation HD, the Fire TV Cube, and TVs with Fire TV built in. It doesn't run on the Fire TV Stick 4K Select or the second-generation Fire TV Stick HD, which use Amazon's newer Vega OS.

Do I need a Fire TV?

Yes, for the board. The phone app works without one, but it is built for adding things.

Is it in the App Store or Google Play?

No. The phone app is a web page, app.lazysusan.app. Add it to your home screen and it opens like an app.

Can I use it on a computer?

Yes. Sign in at app.lazysusan.app from any browser.

How do I add a TV?

On the TV, open Lazy Susan. On your phone, go to Settings, then Add a TV, and type the code on the screen.

Using it

How fast do changes reach the TV?

About ten seconds. Up to a minute if nobody has used the remote for half an hour.

Can more than one person add things?

Yes. Invite other adults from Settings. Each has their own login and sees the same household.

Does it sync with Google Calendar?

Not yet. It is on the roadmap for a later release.

Does it work with Alexa?

Not yet.

A recipe link didn't save.

Some sites need a login or block automated visits. Use “Save from your browser” on the Recipes screen, or paste the recipe's text.

Account

I can't sign in.

Use “Forgot password” on the sign-in page. If you've lost your authenticator app, write to support@lazysusan.app from the address on your account.

How do I get a copy of my data?

Settings, Your data, Download my data.

How do I delete my account?

Settings, Your data, Delete account. If you no longer have the app, go to app.lazysusan.app/#delete-account. Deletion is immediate and can't be undone.

Privacy and cost

Who can see what we put in?

The adults in your household, and anyone who can see your TV. Details are in the privacy policy.

Do kids get accounts?

No. A parent adds a first name and a color.

What does it cost?

Nothing during the beta. See Pricing.

What's new

Accounts and households

Each adult in the house gets their own login: Google, Amazon, or an email address and password.

Invite the other adults from Settings, and add kids by first name and color.

A TV joins your household with a code or a QR shown on its screen.

Download everything as one file, or delete your household's data or your account, from Settings.

Needs TV app 2.0

Lazy Susan, and the Home board

The calendar is now Lazy Susan, with a new look on the TV and the phone.

Home shows today's activities and meals, the to-dos planned for today, tonight's dinner, and the next six days, beside your household's photos.

Pick the part of each photo to keep in view.

A to-do planned for a later day now shows under Planned ahead.

Needs TV app 1.3

Lazy Susan on a computer

Sign in at app.lazysusan.app on a computer and the app spreads out: the screens down the left, each form beside its list, and the recipe library as cards.

An open recipe shows beside its edit form, ready to read.

On a phone, the To-dos and Recipes screens now fit the screen without scrolling sideways.
